The winners’ stage has been well and truly packed away for the 2018 Skullcandy Oz Grom Open presented by Vissla, but a few competitors have taken one last curtain call to officially end the event.

The 2018 edition of the event included the inaugural Creators & Innovators short film competition that challenged competitors to make a short film of them surfing and incorporate some humour and a shot of them in the lifeblood of the surf industry - their local independent surf shop.

The judging of the competition has now concluded, with the winning entry coming from 13-year-old Oscar Salt from Boomerang Beach in New South Wales. Oscar, whose shoot incorporated his local retailer Saltwater Wine at Forster, takes home the $300 first prize and the bragging rights as the event’s inaugural winner.

Second place was won by 15 year-old Harry Green from Seaford South Australia whose local surf shop is Beaches Coastal Apparel, with third place won by 14 year-old Sea McManus from Port Macquarie who incorporated her local store Saltwater Wine Port Macquarie.
